You can add notes to any slide to help you present. If you’re presenting on an external display, you can refer to your presenter notes during your presentation when you set up the presenter display to show presenter notes.

Add and edit notes for a slide

In the slide navigator , tap to select a slide, then type your notes in the presenter notes area.

To make the presenter notes area larger or smaller, swipe up or down near its top edge. You can also scroll your notes.

To add presenter notes to another slide, select the slide, or swipe right or left in the presenter notes area of the current slide to go to the previous or next slide.

Thumbnails for slides with presenter notes have a small lined square in the top- or bottom-right corner.

View presenter notes while playing your presentation

To view your presenter notes during a presentation, you must be showing your presentation on a connected display. The notes appear only on your device, so only you can see them. You can also view presenter notes when you rehearse your presentation .

Tap “Current and Notes” or “Next and Notes.”

Do any of the following to change how the presenter notes look:

Invert the text and background colors: Turn on Invert Colors to show white text on a black background or vice versa (other text colors aren’t affected).

Tap the slide to advance to the next build or slide.

To add or edit presenter notes while you play your presentation, double-tap the presenter notes area. To return to the slide, tap Done.

You can also print your slides along with your presenter notes.

To take college notes on my iPad, I use the Notability app, the iPad Pro, and the apple pencil. You can follow the same steps using the app GoodNotes, ZoomNotes, and Metamoji. Android and Windows users try the app Xodo, Metamoji, and EzPDF.

How to Export the PowerPoint Notes to the iPad

On your computer, open the PowerPoint file

2. If your teacher’s power point has a colorful background, like the one on the image below, I recommend change the background to a white color. To do this click on the design tab > select the office theme.

Now your whole powerpoint presentation is in a black and white format.

3. Scroll thru the powerpoint slides to make sure all the text is clear. If you find some words with a yellow color, change the color to red or black.

4. You can also increase the font of the text. Sometimes when you transfer it to the iPad or if you print the handout, some of the words are small.

5. We are going to convert the power point into an outline. In the toolbar, select “File” > print or (command + print).

6. Click on “layout” > handouts (3 slides per page).

Note: It is up to you if you want to keep the black frames around the text. I personally prefer to remove them, as not having them makes note-taking easier on the iPad. For this tutorial, I’m going to leave the frames around the text.

7. Once you have selected the 3 slides per page, at the bottom of the window select PDF > Open PDF in preview.

If you like the way the PDF looks that’s awesome, but I like to take advantage of the whole page. I’m going to increase the scale of the PDF file.

Click file > print > scale to 115 or 120 >

select PDF at the bottom of the window > Open PDF in a preview window.

Now you can see the text bigger and you won’t waste space.

9. Save the file in your favorite cloud folder: In the toolbar, click on “File” > export.

How to Take PowerPoint Notes on the iPad

Open your saved PDF outline in your favorite note-taking app.

If you teacher posts his video lecture and transcript of the lecture online, put them both on one screen. While you are listening to the lecture you can read the transcript and take notes at the same time.

If some of the pictures in the outline are too small to see or to write on here is a quick trick:

Go to your powerpoint file in your storage cloud (I personally prefer DropBox). Find the slide of the image you need.

Select the image and save it to camera roll or take a screen shot of the image that you need.

Insert the saved image into your outline

Depending on the app you use, you can crop and edit the image before inserting it in the document.

This wikiHow teaches you how to write down your presentation notes for each slide in a PowerPoint slideshow, using an iPhone or iPad. You can later view your notes on your own screen without your audience seeing it during the presentation.

Alternatively, you can tap Open in the lower-right corner to select another file, or New to open a new, blank presentation.

If you have notes for multiple slides, you'll have to select a slide and enter your notes for each slide separately.

View and edit presenter notes in a presentation

Presenter notes come in handy when there are topics you might want to talk about but not necessarily show in a presentation. Presenter notes are not accessible in slideshow mode. Here's how you can view and edit the presenter notes in your slides:

The presenter notes icon on iOS devices looks like a piece of paper poking up from the bottom the page. Touch the edit notes icon (it looks like a pencil) to view and edit the notes. To hide presenter notes, touch the x or anywhere on your slide.

Touch anywhere on a slide and the slide number will appear. Touch the notes icon next to the slide number. A dialog box will appear where you can view and edit notes. Touch OK to confirm to save your changes.

Display PowerPoint notes on iPhone during presentation?

When presenting a PowerPoint (.pptx) document, I'll likely have a clicker but cannot count on having visible access to the notes I've written inside it for each slide to help me present.

The presentation will be running on a Windows machine.

Is there an app for the iPhone where I can not only open the PowerPoint document, but easily read the notes only, slide-by-slide?

Alternatively, what solutions do you suggest? Google Docs?
